About Tommy Martin

The Slowest DanceThe Slowest Dance

I started out working as a photographer's assistant, before getting side-tracked by the emergence of the world wide web. I'm now one half of the development team known as Vertebrate, and find myself in the privileged position of being able to divide my time between design, illustration and photography.

I was lucky enough to move to the fantastically beautiful Cumbrian Lake District at the end of 2004. Capturing the truly awe-inspiring sense of this place in mere pictures is almost certainly futile, but I really can't imagine a better way of spending my spare time.

Exhibitions

With one notable exception, none of my work on this site has been exhibited before ('Stay on the Path' was included in an exhibition at the Tate). I'm intending to exhibit some of my landscape work later this year.

Press

My work has been published in several magazines including a portfolio in Photo Art (Czech) and a recent interview for a feature in Digital Photographer Magazine (UK) and DigitalFoto (Spain).

Commercial Use of My Work

My fine-art and landscape work is represented for commercial usage by the excellent Trigger Image library.

My commercial, royalty-free stock photography is available exclusively through iStock.

Me on Flickr

My latest work and occasional snap shots tend to get posted on flickr (flickr.com/photos/tommymartin).
