Continuing to Test the LX2
Nameless Tarn
There's nothing quite like hiking up a mountain to make you realise how much your camera kit weighs. The very idea of replacing an SLR, a bunch of lenses and associated essential bits with a couple of hundred grams of compact camera is such an appealing idea. I really want this camera to work for me.
Great Gable
I'm certainly not expecting the LX2 to completely replace my SLR. There's a long list of things that this kind of camera simply can't do, but I have high hopes that it will be just the thing for kinds of landscapes that I take. Yesterday was the first chance I've had to take it out for proper day's walking in the mountains.
Shadow of the Valley
As I get used to the LX2's metering and get a handle on its' latitude and dynamic range it's starting to produce some really nice RAW files. And as I learn what I can and cannot do with those files in post, I'm starting to produce to finished images that I'm very happy with. I'm also starting to understand why people who use them are quite so devoted to Leica lenses.
