Christmas Orders
Really, that time of year again already..?
We now have every limited edition Tommy Martin print in stock and available to buy framed or mounted from the Gallery, or order on this website. We won't be getting any more prints in stock before Christmas, so early ordering is advised..
The deadline for online orders is Saturday 17th of December.
The Gallery in Askham is open as usual, Thursday to Sundays, 12-5pm. Christmas week we will be open until 3pm on Christmas Eve for those last minute shoppers.
We are closed all day Christmas Day, reopening on Thursday December 29th.
We will be closed on New Years' Eve and New Years Day.

New Work Show Opening September 10th
This weekend (September 10th, 2011) sees the opening of my new work exhibition at my gallery.
Working on the principle that setting deadlines is only to guarantee that I'll get anything finished, this weekend sees the unveiling of 20(ish) brand new, previously unseen prints of my landscape work.
Going through a whole years' work and whittling it down to the final set started out as a pretty daunting task. I started with a "shortlist" of 170 images to edit. A few long days were required as the deadline got closer, but I think it's been well worth the effort.
The show opens at the weekend and will remain in the gallery until the end of the year. The most popular of the new images will work their way into the permanent portfolio.
We'll be adding the new images to this website over the next few days.

Earlier this year I was commissioned by Sprayway to undertake a series of shoots, combining Lake District landscapes with walkers modelling some of next years' range of outdoor clothing.
We set out to use real outdoorsy people rather than agency models and I had the pleasure of working with some really nice folk in some really beautiful settings. I think we're all pretty pleased with the results and I'm looking forward to shooting with this team again soon.

I'm currently putting the finishing touches to my latest chromakey studio session, this time a shoot with the very talented haute couture fashion designer, Karl Bowman.
It was a fun shoot, and a chance to work with some fantastic models. The plan now is produce a series of highly stylized images, putting each of Karl's dresses into settings that suit their distinct styles.

So, an exciting couple of weeks, wrapping up the Sprayway catalogue, a studio shoot with designer Karl Bowman (more of these very soon) and a fun, and highly experimental shoot featuring a local musician and his Vespa.

Eden Valley Horse Trials

Last weekend I was asked to cover the new horse trials at Nord Vue in the Eden Valley. We had fantastic weather all weekend, and I was lucky enough to spend most of it out in the sunshine on the cross country course.
I was called out at very short notice but was able to shoot more than half the 400 competitors over the two days. All in all a very good couple days. I'm very happy with the shots I got and I'm looking forward to covering some more equestrian events.

And Back Again...
So, back in the UK.. and back to work in the Gallery and studio.
The Gallery is now open again, 12-5pm, Thursdays to Sundays. We hope to extend the opening hours somewhat when we get to the Easter Holidays.
We're sorting out the diary for the next few weeks and will be announcing some new workshop dates very soon... watch this space...

To Antigua...

I'm now on the very beautiful island of Antigua, where Katharine and I will be getting married in just a few days time.
